Scott developed his work ethic while growing up on a farm in west Davenport. His first job was collecting eggs, cleaning them, and packaging them for sale. As the farm transitioned from one generation to the next, chickens were replaced with hogs. The days got longer and the work got harder. Now the farm transitions once again to the next generation. In his spare time, when not planting or harvesting, Scott helps repair and preserve the historic buildings that still sit on the family farm.

Scott and his wife, Amy, are enjoying their lives as empty nesters. Combined, they have four boys, two girls, and nine grandchildren.

Jessica is a master stylist and lives in Davenport with her husband, Gregg and daughters, Alina and Charlotte. Justin is Partner and General Manager for Tommy’s Express Car Washes in the Des Moines area. He lives in Clive with his wife, Jamie and sons, Onyx and Dreyli. Joshua works for a local general contractor and lives in Bettendorf with his sons, Mikel and Preston. Jacob is a realtor for Exit Realty and lives in Riverdale with his daughters, Alaya and Emelia, and son, Emmett. Luke works for a local general contractor and lives in Bettendorf. Holly is a Doctor of Kinesiology living in Des Moines with her fiancé, Riley.
