As an expert in market volatility, market analysis, and risk management, Mark began his career on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, where he successfully traded derivatives and structured products for over fourteen years. In addition, he served as a derivatives industry Arbitrator and sat on multiple Chicago financial exchange committees for over a decade. Mark continues to view life as exciting and full of opportunities. With a commitment to life-long learning, he consistently strives to see the bigger picture in any given situation.
After spending fourteen years on the CBOE trading floor, Mark finds the advisory world a welcome and refreshing change. With a gift for explaining difficult concepts, he enjoys opportunities to educate people who want a greater understanding of their investments and the capital markets as a whole. Mark appears each Monday morning on the ‘Your Money’ segment of WQAD’s Good Morning Quad Cities, and his weekly column MARK-TO-MARKET appears each Sunday in the Quad-City Times and The Dispatch-Argus newspapers. His insights on investing, economic analysis and the financial markets have been requested from the international think-tank Paulson Institute and from global news outlets such as CNBC, Yahoo Finance, The Washington Post and Voice of America News.
Mark lives in the Quad Cities and maintains a residence in Chicago, offering a presence to our clients that live in the Chicago area. He is Past-President of the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Geneseo GIFT Foundation's Board of Directors. Mark has chaired Geneseo’s Annual Trains, Planes and Automobiles Festival since 2016 and is a member of the Hammond-Henry Hospital Annual Support Committee. In his free time, he enjoys attending sporting events, fishing, and traveling to remote areas of the world.
